Clearing a space for the entryway onto the lot.
Another view of the grading being done.

How exciting to see equipment and work actually beginning on the building. The trees along the road are gone and grading is underway. Yeah!

Everyone wanted to be a part of this special moment. Carleton Jackson, Bertha Phillips, and Isabelle Cabaniss were just a few of the many excited members.

Groundbreaking

It was a rainy, cold, dreary day, but smiles abounded and the joy was so tangible that one could feel it as ground was broken for the new South Boston Branch on March 7, 2008. Shown here: Pres. Milton, Stake President, President Hatch, 1st Counselor in the Stake Presidency, Branch President Mac Bugg, Sammy Woodson, Alan James, Jay Icenhour and Karl Eiriksson.

The lot chosen for the building of the South Boston Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at the intersection of Dan River Church Road and Edmunds Park Road.
