I know the pictures are all basically the same thing, but I cannot get enough of watching the progress. And to think I will be leaving here before it is finished - but I do plan to be here for the dedication as long as someone keeps me informed as to dates. In the meantime, I will enjoy the process to the fullest degree!

Could this be the baptism font they are digging? Looks like it might be.

There will be no more gulleys to jump.

Beautiful sun, warm temperatures, lots of men working. Woohoo!

Today I was thinking back to the sunny days of January when I heard that Burton Construction did not want to start the building until March to wait for better weather. I wish now I had kept up with the number of rain days they have run into thus far. But working around the rain and mud, they have managed to dig the footing, even if it is holding a fair amount of water right now. And I hear raindrops on my roof.......

Photo taken while standing by the stop sign at the corner of Edmunds Park Road and Dan River Church Road.

Pulled off the highway in front of the Dan River Church Road entrance. Much too muddy to get out.

Sitting in the parking lot near the shelter looking back. It is indeed a beautiful spot from every angle.

View of the lot with the park pond and the Serenity Garden in the background. The Serenity Garden is sponsored by the Halifax County Cancer Association and is truly a serene and peaceful place to go and think. The pond is equally relaxing to sit and watch. A lovely spot for our chapel to be and I think many will enjoy it for years to come.

View from the back of the lot with grading continuing for an entrance from Dan River Church Road.

This is the entrance from Edmunds Park Road - a little muddy now, but great visions for the future!
If there is any truth to the saying "April showers bring May flowers", in approximately four to six weeks our area should be stunning! Despite days of rain, work progresses as the actual building is staked and we can now see how it will be located.

April 2 and the work continues as pipe is laid in order to make an entrance.
