As I was posting my children's pictures, I found this older one of mama's family.Seated: Aunt Mary Ellen Oakes Holley, Grandpa - John Calvin Oakes, Grandma - Mary Ann Shield Oakes, lovingly known as Mamie. Standing: Uncle Russell Thomas Holley, Uncle Willard Taft Murphy, Aunt Flossie Wilmoth Oakes Murphy, Uncle Ryland Shields (Buck) Oakes, Aunt Mary Gray Fowlkes Oakes, mama- Virginia Calvin Oakes Farthing, daddy - Clyde Holland Farthing, Uncle John Carter Oakes, and Aunt Dorothy Bennett McDowell Oakes. I do not know why Aunt Rosa Mildred and Uncle Ben and Aunt Eliza Ann are not with them. I do not know the date of the portrait either. If any of you cousins of mine have any additional info, please let me know.
